Free to Save Matched Savings

Community Action's Free to Save Matched Savings program offers individuals with low-to-moderate income the opportunity to save, build habits, and transform economic goals into reality.

The program provides a 4:1 savings match to participants. Individuals will engage in financial and asset-specific education while saving over time towards the purchase of an asset.

Free to Save participants will save up to $2,000, matched with up to $8,000, for a total savings of up to $10,000 towards the purchase of one of the following assets:

  • Home
  • Vehicle
  • Post-secondary education
  • Small business start-up or expansion

Free to Save Matched Savings program is not intended to address immediate needs. To be eligible for this program, you must be a resident of Lancaster or Saunders County, Nebraska. Individuals with annual income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines (currently individual = $30,120; family of four = $62,400) and a net worth of less than $10,000 may be eligible.
