Community Action's Financial Coaching program offers individuals with low-to-moderate income the opportunity to learn financial literacy skills, build habits, and transform economic goals into reality. The program provides financial literacy classes followed by one-on-one financial coaching sessions.
This program begins with six weeks of financial literacy classes, with participants attending one weekly two-hour class. These modules cover foundational knowledge of the following topics:
- Values and Goals
- Income, Expenses, and Savings
- Taking on Debt and Debt Management
- Credit History Scores and Reports
- Banking and Insurance
- Managing Risk to Assets and Identity
After completing the financial literacy classes, participants have the opportunity to enroll in six months of one-on-one financial coaching sessions. The participants determine the focus of these sessions, such as budgeting, credit repair, and other financial goal-setting.
